These are the ancient stone dwellings of this area dating back to the Bronze Age but used over the centuries: they are beehive-shaped huts built with stones without lime using only sandstone flakes.

There are more than 3,000 of them in this area and here they are grouped together in a small village that was restored in the 1950s. While their original use in antiquity is unknown, perhaps as shelters, over the centuries they have become workshops, storerooms and farmers’ cellars.

Here, one can learn many details of the daily life of the farmers by visiting the houses, observing the furniture and working tools such as wine vats, wine presses and silkworm crates.
