Vachères

This ancient village, founded in the 10th century, was once surrounded by ramparts with two gates called I Grandi Portali dating back to the 16th century and a clock tower.

The ancient village was built in harmony with the environment and restored with special care and use of local materials. One can leisurely stroll through the cobbled streets of Vachères encountering beautiful stone houses, friendly people and many shops with gastronomic specialities.

Don’t miss the Romanesque church, the beautiful priory and the Reinassance-style houses.
The small Municipal Museum houses the stone half-bust of a Gallo-Roman warrior.
