Cucuron

This pretty village is located at the foot of the Mourre-Nègre, the highest peak in the Luberon.

The location for several films including The Hussar on the Roof is characterised by architectural uniformity, thanks to its imposing mansions, church and alleyways, and A Very Good Year, starring Russell Crowe with his romantic bathtub.

• The Marc Deydier museum.
• L’arbre de Mai festival: on the last Saturday in May, an unusual festival of pagan origins is held. A poplar tree is carefully chosen, felled and on whose trunk a child, the symbol of youth, sits astride and is carried in triumph through the streets of the town by stout men to the church to celebrate the return of spring.
