Juan-les-Pins, a small hamlet of the municipality of Antibes, is a renowned seaside resort in the Baie des Anges: founded in 1882, it experienced its most glorious boom in the 1920s.
Today, it is one of the favourite destinations on the Côte d’Azur for lovers of idleness, golden beaches, water sports and nightlife. Every year since the 1960s, the Juan les Pins Jazz Festival takes place in July, which has welcomed jazz greats such as Charles Mingus and Bud Powell.
The busy promenade is lined with fine outdoor restaurants and dotted with trendy boutiques, surrounded by modern residences, which come alive almost exclusively during the summer season.
A well-known seaside resort, Juan-les-Pins boasts a long sandy shoreline with a string of beaches. Unfortunately, most of them are for private access by establishment or for use by hotel guests. You will therefore have to anticipate a daily charge for renting a beach umbrella and sunbeds.
Another big problem is parking: the beaches have no dedicated parking spaces and you have to be very lucky to find places along the adjacent streets.
At the beginning of Juan-les-Pins, there is a little-known sandy beach with difficult parking, but quieter than most of the surrounding beaches.
You will find almost no equipment here, except for the showers at the ends: locals come here to recharge their batteries and find some peace and quiet. The road is close by and can be dangerous with children.
For parking, the easiest way is to leave your car in the underground pay car park at the end of rue Dulys.
The sandy beach of Pont de Lys is located near Place du Lys, on Boulevard Raymond Poincaré, and along Boulevard du Littoral, the extension of Boulevard Baudoin towards Cannes.
Since summer 2018, this beach has been totally public. The old private establishments have been discontinued, giving way to a vast beach of fine sand.
Access is easy by leaving your car in one of the car parks on Rue Dulys and Rue du Jardin Secret. A subway provides safe access to the beach. Please note that parking is prohibited along the Boulevard du Littoral.

At the end of Square Franck Jay Gould, near the Casino de Juan, in the city centre, this beach is privately accessible during the summer season: it offers its customers three restaurants and sunbed rental.
In low season, however, it reverts to public access and is undoubtedly one of the most pleasant in Juan-les-Pins, due to its central location and at the same time away from the street.
As with almost all beaches in Juan-les-Pins, the big problem is parking, which proves difficult and often very expensive, with the paid spaces at the casino or the Ambassadeur hotel on avenue des Sables.
It is located right next to the port and is totally public. To reach it from Juan les Pins you have to take the boulevard Edouard Baudoin and follow the road to Port de la Gallice, where there is also a convenient parking area.
Sheltered from the road, along the walls, it is a small, intimate beach, just 100 metres long, well protected from the winds by the presence of the port. Much loved and known only to locals, it is unfortunately unsupervised and proves very crowded in summer.
It is undoubtedly one of the lesser-known beaches of Juan-les-Pins, nestled between the ports of Gallice and Crouton and hidden by the port’s two breakwaters.
Despite the presence of a small private beach, this small lido is public, sheltered and from here there is a beautiful view of Golfe Juan and especially of Cap d’Antibes.
Please note that the beach is not signposted and the only way to reach it, after the Port of Galice, is to turn into a narrow sky lane, the Chemin du Crouton, at the Cap d’Antibes Beach hotel, at the end of which you will find a small free car park (chargeable in summer).
