Île-de-France is the region in which the French capital, Paris, is located. Other important cities are Boulogne-Billancourt, Saint-Denis, Argenteuil and Versailles.

Just a few kilometres from Paris, you can find some of the region’s most beautiful attractions, from marvellous royal residences to amusement parks, from majestic cathedrals to imposing castles and magnificent parks and gardens.

Some are easily accessible from Paris using public transport, for others you will need to hire a car. Depending on your taste, we recommend reserving a couple of days during your stay in Paris for these out-of-town trips.
