This trail is not too steep and is suitable for everyone, including children and families: with 1 km, you can enjoy a magnificent panorama of the upper Arly valley and Mont Blanc
Along the trail you will find restaurants and refuges where you can taste local specialities.
The trail to Lake Javen is about 4 km, for 1½ hours (A/R), of walking to this enchanting body of water, surrounded by fir trees and mountains, with a wonderful panorama.
Here you will find various activities for children such as trampolining, archery and trout fishing. The lake is also easily accessible by using a shuttle bus from Megève or by car.
With a fabulous panorama of the Mont Blanc massif, the Aravis mountains and the Varens Needles, the Belvédère de La Croix de Salles hike is a must in Megève. No great athletic training is needed to complete this loop: the route is fast and the scenery breathtaking.
The trail starts at the Beauregard alpine pasture, the site of the filming of the Milka advertisement, with its famous marmot putting chocolate in a foil.
Continuing on, you reach La Croix des Salles with a panoramic view of the highest massifs of Mont Blanc. This 5-km-long path (about 2 hours’ walk) is an ideal panoramic route to admire an exceptional view of Mont Blanc. Short and accessible to young and old alike, this is an absolute must-do hike during your summer stay in Megève.
In addition to magical views, this bucolic walk will take you through magnificent villages such as the hamlet of Ormaret. You will appreciate the farms still in activity, the village chapel and all its traditional architecture.
This 7 km loop is a pleasant family hike that starts near Megève. It takes you along the path to Rochebrune, before reaching the Col de l’Alpette.
On the trail you can admire Mont Joly and the Aiguille de Croche, then the climb will take you to the summit, at an altitude of 1,871 metres, where a sublime view of the Beaufortain mountains awaits you. At the top you will find a restaurant in the middle of nature with a 360° panoramic view.
Doable all year round, this loop is perfect for summer hiking and winter snowshoeing.

More technically accessible than climbing, and less demanding than mountaineering, the via ferrata is an excellent way to experience and practise the high mountains.
There are several in Megève, from the Fayet thermal park via ferrata to the Curalla via ferrata in Passy, with very aerial passages and impressive obstacles, recommended only for those who do not suffer from vertigo.
