If you plan to explore Alsace by car, be it your own or a rented car, and you prefer the old-fashioned ways, a road map might come in handy. We offer you the possibility of purchasing one online or downloading one to print out at home.
On Amazon, you will find all important road maps of Alsace at prices that are often discounted compared to those in bookshops.
If you decide to print the map at home, below you will find a map of Alsace with the main roads in the region and a simplified map of the main tourist attractions to help you find your way around when planning your trip. Click on each image to enlarge and download its high-resolution version.
In addition to a map, a printed travel guide will certainly come in handy. Our favourite remains the Lonely Planet, which we recommend you buy on Amazon and take advantage of free shipping.
Alsace is a small region of France, a long strip of land bordered by the Vosges Massif to the west and the Rhine River to the east. The latter acts as a natural border with Germany, from which Alsace is only a few kilometres away. In fact, Alsace runs vertically, wedged between Switzerland to the south and Germany to the east, a piece of land that has been disputed for centuries.
Today, the region is divided between the French departments of Upper Rhine, Lower Rhine and Moselle.
